Accommodations at the University of Colorado

The 2009 Housing and Meals program offers excellent value and flexibility. We have three packages this year: Prefest/Full Festival, Full Festival and Weekend. Housing will be offered in three CU facilities: College Inn, Sewall Hall and Athens Apartments, all within 2 blocks of each other. Registration for additional night lodging is also available. Every imaginable effort has been made to keep the cost for these packages as low as possible.

Meals will be provided at Sewall Hall's cafeteria. Box lunches will be provided on Thursday and Friday available for pick-up at the Central Park Stage where daily performances will be held. All meal programs must be pre-purchased. Meals are not available for purchase on site. For more detail on Housing and Meal programs please visit the Registration Guide under the "Registration" tab on the Zimfest 2009 home page.

A brief description of each property follows.

College Inn

Located on the north end of the CU campus, adjacent to Athens, the College Inn is a residential facility containing both single and double occupancy rooms (which have a 2-person maximum). Amenities include air-conditioning, balconies, and private bathrooms. This housing facility will contain many of Zimfest's daytime workshops as well as its night-time informal jamming sessions (Pungwe's), varying the noise level in certain areas of the building at times. College Inn is the main/primary housing facility reserved for Zimfest's participants. Reservations for this building are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Sewall Residence Hall

Located just up the hill from the College Inn, Sewall Residence Hall holds the dining facility in which Zimfest participants will eat their housing package meals during the conference. This facility has traditional single and double occupancy (2-person maximum) dormitory-style rooms with gender separated community bathrooms located on each floor. Sewall will hold a few of the Zimfest workshops and is in closer proximity to CU's main campus. Sewall is not an air-conditioned facility.

All rooms will come with bed linens, bedspread and towels. Housing is offered on a first-come first-served basis. Sewall Hall will be the primary location for larger groups.

Athens North

Located across the drive from the College Inn, Athens North is an apartment complex that has been reserved for those who are looking to bring their families/children to Zimfest. The apartments contain a living area, kitchen, private bathroom, and two bedrooms (4-person maximum), several rooms with balconies. All units are air-conditioned. There are a limited number of apartments available.

Please Note

All CU Housing facilities are non-smoking. Rooms include extra-long twin beds, a dresser, bookcase, desk, microfridge (microwave, refrigerator and freezer), and closet. Each participant will receive the following, located at the end of their bed upon arrival: 1 linen packet (including 1 set of sheets & towels), a cotton bedspread, pillow, and pillowcase. Housekeeping services are provided in restrooms and public areas but not in individual guest rooms. There are no telephones or active phone jacks in the rooms. TVs are located in each building's lounge for community use and each facility has a coin-operated laundry room for washing clothes.

Alcohol is not permitted in any public areas.

Registration for CU Housing and Meals

You must register for Housing and Meal packages directly with the University of Colorado. http://cucs.colorado.edu/confreg/zimfest2009.html Please note that we have made special arrangements with CU to allow for early check-in (10:00am) and late check-out on Sunday (by 4:00pm), to provide as much flexibility as possible. We hope you will join us for the Village Meeting immediately following Sunday Lunch at Sewall Hall at 12:30pm!

Parking Permits (Week Pass - $11.00) are available on the CU and Zimfest registration sites and are highly recommended for any Housing/Meal package. Parking is very limited without a permit! Parking permits must be purchased before the June 7th deadline.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

There will be a $50 cancellation fee up until May 25th. After May 25th no refunds will be given. This is necessary because of the contractual obligations we must make ahead of time with CU.
